Pre-orders for God of War Laufey opened on September 29, 2026, at 10:00am local time, Santa Monica Studio announced on the PlayStation Blog. The game comes out on February 16, 2027, on PS5. The post, by the studio’s communications director Grace Orlady, set out what comes with a pre-order and with the Digital Deluxe Edition. It did not list prices.

What the pre-order bonus includes

Pre-ordering adds three in-game items:

  • the Last Wish armour set;
  • the Phranque Golden Leaves appearance, a cosmetic;
  • an in-game resource pack.

What the Digital Deluxe Edition adds

The Digital Deluxe Edition bundles a set of cosmetic and bonus content with the game:

  • the Dark Alchemy armour set, blade, bow scales and catalyst;
  • an in-game resource pack;
  • a digital mini artbook;
  • the game’s official digital soundtrack.

What the post says about the game

In Laufey, the player controls Faye. The game is set in what the studio calls the Everywhen, the afterlife of the gods. Her main ranged weapon is the Serpent Bow, which has two modes: a precision mode on a full trigger press, for aimed shots that can charge a volley of up to five arrows and target parts of an enemy to slow it down, and a hip-fire mode on a half press, for firing clusters of arrows at close range while moving. The studio says arrow types include rapid fire, explosive and multi-target shots, and that bow “scales” change both the bow’s look and its perks.

Faye’s other equipment follows the same pattern, with a customisable blade, magical catalysts and armour that carries its own perks and stats.

Pre-order bonuses and deluxe items are extras on top of the base game, similar to other DLC. Before buying, check the store listing in your region for the price of each edition, which the announcement did not give.
